Jesus A. Malaga

HOS HEAD INSTRUCTOR

LINEAGE: MITSUYO MAEDA > CARLOS GRACIE SR. > HELIO GRACIE > CARLOS GRACIE JR. > RENZO GRACIE > RICARDO ALMEIDA > TOM DEBLASS

Jesus A. Malaga was born and raised in Lima, Peru. He is a 1st Degree Black Belt under Professor Tom DeBlass, who is a 2nd Degree Black Belt student of Ricardo Almeida and a 4th Degree Black Belt under Renzo Gracie.

Jesus started his journey in or about 2011, determined to make a change in his life for the better. Jiu-Jitsu helped him lose well over fifty (50) pounds, and afforded him the opportunity to travel around the world, competing and sharing his techniques with others. He is living proof that Jiu-Jitsu can help change lives, on and off the mats. Jesus has created HOS with the intention of helping all who enter, for whatever their purpose or goal is, and to continuously develop the gentle art.

He is an avid competitor and has competed in numerous prestigious events such as F2W and Rise Invitational.


Sara J. RESETAR

HOS WOMEN’S CLASS INSTRUCTOR | HOS ADULT ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

Sara Resetar was born and raised in New Jersey. She currently holds the rank of Black Belt under Tom DeBlass, who is a 2nd Degree Black Belt student of Ricardo Almeida and a 4th Degree Black Belt under Renzo Gracie.

Prior to immersing herself into Jiu-Jitsu in 2016, Sara already had an extensive and successful athletic background. Her former ice hockey career includes over eight (8) years of both men’s and women’s teams coaching experience, over twenty-two (22) years of playing experience and a Level 4 USA Hockey certification. She spent three (3) seasons playing men’s ice hockey at The College of New Jersey (ACHA) and three (3) seasons women’s ice hockey at Villanova University (ACHA) where she served as assistant captain for three (3) years. In choosing to carry her athletic career forward through the gentle art, she plans to develop HOS competitive teams for those looking to begin or further themselves in sport.

She is a graduate of Villanova University School of Law and Villanova School of Business.

Sara is also an avid competitor and has competed at many invitational events. She won her adult division at the IBJJF 2019 Pan American No-Gi Championships as a blue belt. Prior to being promoted, she was a medalist at the IBJJF 2021 No-Gi Worlds and IBJJF 2021 Master International events as a purple belt.

Anthony Domanoski

HOS ADULT ASSISTANT COACH

Anthony Domanoski is our Adult Assistant Coach. He was born and raised in New Jersey. He began his practice under Professor Tom DeBlass in 2017, and is currently a Brown Belt under Professor Jesus Malaga and Coach Sara Resetar. A motivated collegiate athlete and former lifeguard with an established and successful athletic career, Anthony has a competitive spirit that is insatiable.

He is a graduate of Salisbury University.

Anthony is committed to developing law enforcement engagement in Jiu-Jitsu, imparting the knowledge that officers and other first responders need to be their most effective in the worst situations; his favorite quote is: “It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you don’t stop.” He is a member of the competitive team at HOS and is a veteran competitor of many invitational events.


Mariami Tsuladze

HOS YOUTH ASSISTANT COACH | HOS WOMEN’S CLASS ASSISTANT COACH

Mariami Tsuladze is our Youth Assistant Coach. Mariami was born and raised in the Republic of Georgia. She is currently a Blue Belt under Professor Jesus Malaga and Coach Sara Resetar. Mariami started her Jiu-Jitsu journey by seeking a martial art for self-defense. The practice of the gentle art helped her feel more confident, and she ultimately gained a sense of security through her training.

Her passion for progress led her to become more involved with HOS, and her sense of community on and off the mats allowed her to engage with the thriving HOS Youth Program as a mentor for the next generation.

Mariami is passionate about growing women’s engagement in the practice of Jiu-Jitsu; her favorite quote is: “In spite, still I rise.” She is a member of the competitive team at HOS and plans to attend law school in the future..


Dean Smolokoff

HOS YOUTH ASSISTANT COACH | HOS FUNDAMENTALS ASSISTANT COACH

Dean Smolokoff is our Youth Assistant Coach and Fundamentals Assistant Coach. Dean is a Monmouth County native who began his Jiu-Jitsu practice in 2021, and is currently a Purple Belt under Professor Jesus Malaga and Coach Sara Resetar.

With a former athletic background of wrestling and baseball, Dean is a natural competitor. He is a Monmouth University graduate and received his MBA concentrating in finance in May 2022. Dean currently works in the accounting field, and plans to become a CPA in the near future.

Dean is passionate about helping his peers grow; his favorite quote is: “Find a way." He is a member of the competitive team at HOS and has competed in numerous prestigious events such as F2W and IBJJF.
