Youth classes

OUR YOUTH PROGRAM (AGES 5/+) IS DESIGNED TO HELP STUDENTS BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION AND IMPROVE THEIR OVERALL UNDERSTANDING OF JIU-JITSU. THE CURRICULUM FOR THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES BOTH BEGINNER AND FUNDAMENTAL TECHNIQUES, COORDINATION DRILLS, INTERACTIVE GAMES AS WELL AS EXPLORING CORE CONCEPTS AND IDEAS. (NOTE: WE OFFER ONE (1) YOUTH CLASS, DIVIDED BY APPROPRIATE AGE(S). INSTRUCTORS WILL PARTNER STUDENTS ACCORDING TO AGE AND WEIGHT.)

Adult class (fUNDAMENTALS)

OUR ADULT FUNDAMENTALS PROGRAM (GI AND NO GI) IS DESIGNED AND BASED AROUND CORE TECHNIQUES THAT EVERY JIU-JITSU PRACTITIONER SHOULD KNOW. WITH THIS PROGRAM, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO IMPROVE THEIR OVERALL JIU-JITSU KNOWLEDGE, INCREASE MOVEMENT, AND RECEIVE AN INTRODUCTION INTO ADVANCED JIU-JITSU TECHNIQUES. STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND GI AND NO GI CLASSES TO IMPROVE THEIR OVERALL UNDERSTANDING OF TECHNIQUES AND POSITIONS. (ALL STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED IN THIS PROGRAM.)

Advanced class (+Competition)

OUR ADULT ADVANCED PROGRAM GIVES STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE THEIR GAME TO THE NEXT LEVEL THROUGH AN IN-DEPTH EXPLORATION OF MORE ADVANCED JIU-JITSU TECHNIQUES AND INSTRUCTION. STUDENTS WILL ALSO RECEIVE AN EXTENSIVE EDUCATION INTO MODERN JIU-JITSU PRACTICE, AS WELL AS LESS COMMON SITUATIONS THAT MAY ARISE DURING COMPETITIVE MATCHES. PARTICIPATION IN THIS CLASS IS RESTRICTED TO THREE (3) STRIPE WHITE BELTS AND ABOVE. (COMPETITION CLASSES WILL BE BUILT INTO ADVANCED CLASSES AS NEEDED.)

WOMEN'S only classeS

WOMEN ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND OUR CO-ED CLASSES. HOWEVER, WE ALSO RECOGNIZE THAT CO-ED CLASSES ARE A BARRIER OF ENTRY FOR MANY WOMEN. AT HOS, WE TRULY BELIEVE THAT LEARNING THE BASICS OF SELF-DEFENSE, HOW TO USE AND MOVE YOUR BODY EFFICIENTLY, AS WELL AS FEELING COMFORTABLE AND SAFE, ARE NECESSARY FOR EFFECTIVE TRAINING AND OVERALL JIU-JITSU DEVELOPMENT. HOS WOMEN’S ONLY CLASSES COVER THE SAME CURRICULUM AS OUR ADULT FUNDAMENTALS PROGRAM (GI AND NO GI), TAUGHT IN AN ALL WOMEN ENVIRONMENT BY OUR COACH, SARA RESETAR. THIS CURRICULUM IS ONGOING, YOU CAN JOIN AT ANY TIME. (STUDENTS OF ANY LEVEL ARE WELCOME IN THIS PROGRAM.)

yoga for ATHLETES

OUR YOGA PROGRAM IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR THE JIU-JITSU ATHLETE. AT HOS, WE BELIEVE IN EFFECTIVE RECOVERY TECHNIQUES THAT PREVENT INJURY, PROMOTE LONGEVITY, AND FURTHER JIU-JITSU DEVELOPMENT. IN ADDITION TO CLASS INSTRUCTION, ALL STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR YOGA CLASSES, DESIGNED TO ASSIST STUDENTS RECOVER, MOVE THE BODY EFFECTIVELY FOR JIU-JITSU, AS WELL AS EDUCATE STUDENTS ON HOW TO BETTER CONTROL THE JOURNEY TO MENTAL CLARITY.
